Machida wants to knock Dan Henderson out

Tuesday, February 19th, 2013

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC Light Heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida would love to knock out Dan Henderson, but the task is easier said than done. Henderson enters the match against the Brazilian having never been knocked out in his professional Mixed Martial Arts career and with only three losses via submission in his professional career spanning 37 fights. Machida and Henderson are set to go head to head against each other at UFC 157 on the 23rd of February at the Honda Centre in Anaheim, California, United States of America. The match will be the co-main event of the night.

Speaking to TATAME.com, the Brazilian stated that whenever he goes into a match, he always does wants to give it his best shot, thinking that if he does, he will be able to achieve his goal. And this time, the goal that Lyoto Machida has set for himself is to end the fight as quickly as possible, and there are only two ways that can be possible – he has to either knock Henderson out or make him submit. But even The Dragon knows that he will have his work cut out against one of the most stubborn fighters in the world of Mixed Martial Arts.

Henderson on the other hand, will be making his first appearance inside the Octagon of the UFC in almost 15 months. He was set to get a shot at the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship but a freak knee injury forced him out of the match.

Lyoto Machida, a former UFC Light Heavyweight champion dropped his title belt back in 2010, and after that loss, he has had four fights, winning two and losing two, with both the wins coming by technical knockout in the second round and he will look for a repeat against Henderson.
